# Heartbeat Error

Hi

I just installed Heartbeat to monitor our server using ICMP, even if my server is UP heartbeat detecte it as down giving me this message  
**write ip4 0.0.0.0-\>192.168.XX.XX: sendto: operation not permitted**

**PS** : the ping to the server work in local

what the problem ?

hi @Imad_Bouchakour, can you check if there is any firewall filter applied on the outgoing interface(?) or any filter that might be blocking ICMP? If so, try accepting ICMP in the filter and test it out.

hi @MarianaD, i checked and and there is nothing that block the ICMP in the firewall, however i changed the interval between the ping request to 5m and now i got less error.

Can you provide details about OS, version, hardware, etc? This probably is something besides heartbeat, and that info could be useful.

This is a bit of a mystery. Unfortunately I can't repro and there are no other reported cases of this. It's likely something specific to your environment, but what it is is hard to say.
