# Help on Extend Kibana using new chromeNavControls plugin

I have an index with notifications (@timestamp, user\_id, alerte\_title, alert\_message) and i want to notify user when og in to Kibana like the following picture

I will need your help (or any sample code) that can guide me on how to extend the following default Kibana nav bar

Hey @ylasri, the following is the code where the security plugin is displaying the user profile in the nav: [https://github.com/elastic/kibana/blob/master/x-pack/legacy/plugins/security/public/views/nav\_control/nav\_control.js](https://github.com/elastic/kibana/blob/master/x-pack/legacy/plugins/security/public/views/nav_control/nav_control.js). It might be a good reference for what you're looking to perform.
