# How can backup all Logs of elk server

I install elk server on a new pc. all configuration are same. How can I back up 6 months logs of elk-server to transfer new elk-server.

Have you looked at the [snapshot and restore API](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/6.2/modules-snapshots.html#modules-snapshots)?
