# How can I delete a Kibana dashboard through API?

Hi @Lide_Ding,

Welcome to the community! Which version of Kibana are you using?

If it's 8.11 or later you are right that the [Delete saved objects API](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/saved-objects-api-delete.html) has been marked for deprecation. I see from [this thread](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/how-to-delete-kibana-dashboard-via-api-in-elk-8-11-3/350520) that an alternative has not currently been made available to replace, so the API will not be removed until there is a replacement available.
