# [Elasticsearch service won’t run on new installation](https://discuss.elastic.co/t/elasticsearch-service-wont-run-on-new-installation/188179)

I've asked for help with my issue. A staffer replied and asked me to post some content formatted in a certain way. I don't know how to do the requested formatting on this forum. I thought that I had posted the requested logs and error messages but am unsure if what I posted was what people needed to be able to offer help.

I'm stuck at this point and would appreciate any help anyone can give to a newbie to Elasticsearch, these forums, and a not very experienced Linux person.
