When we create an index then we apply geoip{ }....But how does it find all the information regarding those ips? Like country name, continent name etc??

Both [Logstash GeoIp filter](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/logstash/current/plugins-filters-geoip.html) and [Ingest Node GeoIp processor](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/geoip-processor.html) use the [GeoLite2 database provided by MaxMind](https://dev.maxmind.com/geoip/geoip2/geolite2/) . We update them on a fairly regular schedule, but you can also swap in newer versions or the [commercial offerings](https://www.maxmind.com/en/geoip2-databases) if you like.
