# How set "xpack.encryptedSavedObjects.encryptionKey" in kibana.yml

Hi there,  
we would like to use the new alarming framework, but this variable must be set in kibana.yml. Whats the best way to do this ?

You can add your own Kibana settings to the `spec.config` section of your Kibana resource definition:
