# How to add custom field in Topbeat

How to add custom fields in Topbeat yml as it is in filebeat prospectors fields ?

Fields are currently not supported in topbeat. You can use "tags" which are part of the shipper config: [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/beats/topbeat/current/topbeat-configuration-options.html#\_tags](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/beats/topbeat/current/topbeat-configuration-options.html#_tags)

You can try this way

input{  
...  
}

filter {  
mutate { add\_field =\> {"field\_name" =\> "field\_value"} }  
}

output {  
...  
}
