# How to add heartbet field to alerts index

Hello,

I want to configure alerting for uptime monitors by the general rule that would apply to any monitor.

To be able to connect my code to this I need some filed to knew which host general alert says about.

Right now I am not able to add such a field.

Is It event possible?

- What have you tried already?
- Where do you think the problem is?

Hi @wylie,

I finally noticed that the alert field context\_monitor contains the "id" from the heartbeat file. So there is no more an issue.
