# How to benchmark Grok?

The recent blog post [here](https://www.elastic.co/blog/do-you-grok-grok) links to a script for benchmarking but I can't figure out how to get it working with the vendored JRuby that ships with Logstash. Does someone have an ELI5 set of steps for setting up and running the benchmark script?
