# How to create a mapping for an image type (i have a url that points to an image)

You can use a [string field formatter](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/current/field-formatters-string.html) to display your field value as an image.

Then, one your dashboard, embed a saved search for your index pattern containing the image field.
