# How to create a metric and change the format to day, hour, minute

How to create a metric and change the format to day, hour, minute  
example:

I've already managed to put it in this format 0:0:0, however when it passes 24 hours, it's weird to see and if it's been days that it's unreadable, I'd like it to be something like this:

1d 18:13:00,

it may be otherwise, but make it readable,

I think you need to look at field formatters for your timestamp in index pattern management and see if that helps. Please also look at advanced settings date formats.
