# How to delete old indices in ES 2.3

I only want to keep the indices in ES for few days.

Is there any way to delete old indices?

How to trigger it to run `curator`? I can install and configure it in chef. but we do not run Chef daily ?

You need to put it it cron, or some other scheduler.
