I tried to find it in the guide but failed: Is there a way to configure ES \* _not_\* to automatically create indexes (e.g. when indexing content of a non existing index). I need to control index creation and would like to reject indexing requests that refer to non existing indexes. ---

I am not sure it is documented..., it should be documented in the index API at the very least. Can you open an issue?
