# How to figure what what is using so much CPU and memory in Elastic Search?

I cant quote you but I have a index that is, after 2 days, 1.1GB in size already....

Well changed over to monthly and now the shard size is going down.... 3928 shards....
Its still a lot because I have data from 180 days ago which is still using the daily format.
But slowly it seems to be going down.
