# How to get data using Logstash Monitoring APIs and send data to Elasticsearch index?

Hi,

I got to know that there are experimental Logstash [APIs](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/logstash/current/monitoring.html) to get Logstash data. I decided to experiment with it. I opened Kibana Dev Tools Console and entered a sample query `GET /_node/pipeline` which returned;

```
{
  "error": {
    "root_cause": [
      {
        "type": "illegal_argument_exception",
        "reason": "No endpoint or operation is available at [pipeline]"
      }
    ],
    "type": "illegal_argument_exception",
    "reason": "No endpoint or operation is available at [pipeline]"
  },
  "status": 400
}

```

I would like to know how to use these APIs and how can I send that data to elasticsearch index periodically.
