# How to increase \`path.data\` for more space?

I am running out of drive space! I would like to add another volume, and map it to a directory. I would like to change my \*.yml line from

```
path.data: /data1, /data2, /data3

```

to

```
path.data: /data1, /data2, /data3, /data4

```

but then I just loose shards [1]

Suggestions?

Version 2.0+ can handle increased `path.data`, I was using 1.7.1

I just replied on that other thread. This should be possible. Is it reproducing for you? can you share your reproduction?
