# How to inspect the inverted index created by ES?

Is there anyway to inspect the inverted index ?

Elasticsearch version : 2.2.0

Luke ?

if luke can, should I change some codes?

You could contribute to @jprante's project: [https://github.com/jprante/elasticsearch-skywalker](https://github.com/jprante/elasticsearch-skywalker)

Also I think you can use Luke in every single shard's dir as it is a Lucene instance.
