# How to install heartbeat on Elastic cloud

We are using the Elastic cloud and wish to install Heartbeat to monitor uptime. When we go to the Uptime app, it provides a button **Add monitors with Heartbeat**. Then when we click on it, it takes us to the installation instructions where we can select a tab according to the OS. We are monitoring Windows servers. I do not know the vendor of our hosted Kibana in the Elastic cloud. All of the instructions assume we have access to a command line interface in the OS.
1. Which kind of server is our Elastic cloud? Which instructions do I use?
2. How do I (or can I) have access to the OS via command line for our Elastic cloud, for the purposes of downloading, configuring (heartbeat.yml), and starting heartbeat?

It is because you need to install it on servers that you manage, not on Elastic Cloud.
So you will need a server on your infrastructure to install heartbeat.
