# How to migration frozen index to hot or warm?

Hello I'm InJong from korea.  
I have a frozen indices with datastream. (in Elastic Cloud)

I want to move frozen tier index to another tier. (hot, warm, cold)

I checked document

But i didn't understand how to migrate.

Can you tell me api step by step?

FYI frozen indices are deprecated - [Unfreeze index API | Elasticsearch Guide [8.5] | Elastic](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/8.5/unfreeze-index-api.html)

Once you have unfrozen them you need to allocate them to the tier that you want using [Cluster-level shard allocation and routing settings | Elasticsearch Guide [8.5] | Elastic](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/8.5/modules-cluster.html#cluster-shard-allocation-filtering)

I did restore snapshot(frozen tier) with alias and reindex.
