# How to monitor the resource usage of filebeat?

I want to monitor the resource usage of filebeat like CPU, memory usage, and etc. I know that recently released x-pack can monitor logstash and wonder if it is possible to filebeat.

How could I do? Do I use the OS tool or topbeat? If I have to use topbeatm, how to use it?

Beats central monitoring is something [we're working on](https://github.com/elastic/beats/issues/3422), but it's not ready yet. We expect to release it, including the UI for it, with 6.0.

In the meantime, yes, you can use Metricbeat to monitor CPU & memory usage for any process, including filebeat.
