# How to reallocation shards in repurposed node

A data node was repurposed(to upgrade the node).  
Then it was unable to reallocate shards yet. It has configured as a warm node.

I want to how to allocate shards to this node again?

Use the [cluster allocation explain API](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/cluster-allocation-explain.html) to explain why shards aren't allocated as you expect.
