# How to recover from split brain?

I encountered Split Brain Scenario. What steps to follow to recover from  
it, without losing data ?  
Just restarting the nodes alone does not solve the problem.

Hi,

Had you configured dedicated master nodes and a minimum number of eligible  
master nodes[1]? If not, I would recommend to at least set  
minimum\_master\_nodes in order to prevent this issue from happening again in  
the future.

In order to recover from this issue, can you try to restart your whole  
cluster?
