HI Can You help me out how I can refresh and disable shrink for indices? during, from the devtool console I didn't find any onging actoin, but it seems that a few a indices are hanging on that steps? ![shrink](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/elastic/original/3X/4/d/4d0da304a12e54046c07c8c64d486c02ffdfbfb9.jpeg) Such state doesn't allow to move such data from warm to cold tier. ---

Based on the status message, it appears the index is trying to go from 8 shards to 21 (?) ... the shrink process is for going to a new index with fewer primary shards so this appears to be a configuration issue. For your 8 primary shards, the options would be to shrink to 4, 2 or 1 as noted in the [docs](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/indices-shrink-index.html#shrink-index-api-desc). ---

Yes it came down to incompatibility, that's why I had to remove these indices. ---
