# How to reindex data after 7.10 update

Hello all. We just completed our nice 7.10 update and I have read in the docs that it is necessary for us to reindex the data on ES after an upgrade. We are using 5 ES boxes and Logstash. Could someone point me to/provide some information on how to reindex our data on ES after the upgrade when using Logstash and having multiple ES nodes? Thanks!

What version did you upgrade from? Where did you read that it's necessary to reindex?

Hi warkolm, thanks a bunch for helping me with question. The question actually is leading to this problem. Reindexing might not have anything to do with it. After upgrading, we have the dynamic index set but it doesn't write to new 7.10 index. The beats are all trying to write to old indices 😮
