# How to run and install logstash 6.1.2 on windows 7?

Do not install Logstash into a directory path that contains colon (🙂 characters. What does it mean?

Just to make it simple, try to name your folder with colon:

C:\PROJECT\ELK\_STACK\logstash-6.1.2\bin  
This is my path of logstash. Is it fine or not as directory path contains colon C:....
