Hello,  
I'm new to this GitHub but very interested in searching for code. So that I can find and learn how something works. Can someone point me to instructions on how to search for a text string for example in the code?

Someone pointed me to [SourceGraph](https://sourcegraph.com/search) and I was able to search code in the elastic stack GitHub, using its web UI.
