Sorry I was not fully clear, if I understood well your question, you want to have both a bar chart and a metric with the total count, you can create a dashboard with both, a bar chart, and a metric visualization together like this (using Kibana Flights sample dataset and Elastic 7.7). ![image](https://us1.discourse-cdn.com/elastic/original/3X/8/f/8fd2a9dc6515fc831f79f9dd54efce4031d88bed.png) Is this what you meant? ---

just remove the aggregation you added, as I mentioned, literally the defaults of the visualization should give you the desired value ---
