# How to start Logstash?

Hello,

What is the good practice for executing Logstash: by command line, or possibly by service?

In case I'm using a virtual machine, I'd like that Logstash starts without any need to start a window session on my machine.

By service is the best in this case.

I assume using a tool like NSSM?
