# How to Start or Stop elastic search with REST

I am trying to start or stop my elastic search by using REST.

Is there any REST API available. Or should I need to do any kind of setup?

Now I am using NSSM in windows for creating service and start and stop service.

Please advise if there is an alternate solution.  
I am interested in using REST API to start and stop Elastic search.

No. There's no way.  
But if you are using cloud enterprise (commercial license) you have APIs AFAIK to start and stop clusters.
