# How to switch numeric format globally to EU?

how can I switch the numeric format globally for kibana to EU convention?

You can find all of the default formatting settings in Management \> Advanced Settings. There are patterns for currencies, numbers, time, and some others.

If you're trying to change the formatting of only a single field, you can create a field formatter in Management \> Index Patterns. Select your index pattern, find the field you want to format, click the little pencil/edit control on the right, and define the format.
