# How to troubleshoot "unassigned\_shards": , Issue

Hi,

I have setup Elastic Search and Kibana on the same machine. Post starting up both I see the health to be yellow with "unassigned\_shards": 9,

Whats the approach to cleanup the "unassigned\_shards": 9, ad make the state to be Green instead of yellow
