# How to update kibana by keeping the visualization data intact?

Hi,
How to update kibana to the latest version by keeping the visualization data intact? I have tried rollup upgrade and observed that even though my index data is intact, the visualizations are missing. I have to re-work on enhanced table data and other visualizations.
How to avoid this in the next set of updates/Upgrades?

Hi Sujata, as of 6.5.0, Kibana performs [transparent migrations](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/6.5/upgrade-migrations.html) between versions to keep the saved objects in the `.kibana` index up to date. Kibana 6.7.0 also offers an [Upgrade Assistant](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/kibana/6.7/upgrade-assistant.html) to help you upgrade to 7.0.
