# How to update properties filed

Hi ,

Want to make the following changes in properties. Could you please let me know how to do this without change the index.

From:

"no\_proc": {  
"type": "text",  
"fields": {  
"keyword": {  
"type": "keyword",  
"ignore\_above": 256  
}  
}  
}

To:

"no\_proc": {  
"type": "integer"  
},

You can't. You need to create a new index and reindex.
