# How to Use S3 Bucket to index and retrieve data from Elasticsearch?

Hi Please let me know how to index data to elasticsearch and data location to be in s3 bucket and data to be retrieved from s3 bucket.

So you want to take data from S3 and index it into Elasticsearch?

That sounds like a job for Logtstash, not Beats. Logstash has an [input plugin](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/logstash/current/plugins-inputs-s3.html) for reading data from S3.
