Hey... we are using Elasticsearch for our central logging and currently I'm testing differnet setups for our Elasticsearch Cluster to find out which one is delivering the best performance.

I have found this script to test the index performance: [https://github.com/logzio/elasticsearch-stress-test](https://github.com/logzio/elasticsearch-stress-test)

I think it's great but i also think it does not allow any conclusion on how the cluster is performing for search queries (which is way more important for us). Is there a reliable way to test out differnt setups regarding search performance?

Hi @tomx1,

you should checkout [Rally](https://github.com/elastic/rally). It's built to benchmark Elasticsearch.
