Hello, nice to meet you. I am a young software engineer and IT engineering student, and I would like to contribute to this opensource project.
I have been writing code for projects sold to the national Public Administration for the past 2 years and I am looking into to give an hand shipping new features to the project.

Thank you! Is there something specific I can help with or should I pick some issues from the /contribute github page? I’ve been struggling finding new first issues.

> Welcome to the community! It’s great to see enthusiastic software engineers wanting to contribute to the Elasticsearch open-source project. With your background in IT engineering and experience delivering projects for Public Administration, you likely have valuable skills that can help improve features, fix issues, and support the ecosystem. Reviewing contribution guidelines and starting with smaller issues can be a strong first step.

I would be disgusted if I ever received an AI reply like this. **What a shame.**

Hello, I think starting with looking at [Elastic Github](https://github.com/elastic/) is a good start. There is many ways to contribute... There is the Elasticsearch backend, the Kibana frontend. The agents sending data (beats) and also not to forget the integrations for data collection.

So where ever you feel comfortable you can contribute with knowledge or code.

And helping others here , on this very forum, is contributing too. Sure developers and code is very important, but it’s far from the only important thing.
