I have an index with data as follows:

```
{
   ...
   "type": "Door"
  ....
},
{
   ...
   "type": "Window"
  ....
},
```

I want to allow I18N of this field and allow for it to display in the UX in the local language and allow for the user to search using local language.

Would it be better to store the translated terms in ES? Or to perform the translations outside of ES?

If I store the translations in the index would this be a good use of a multi-field? Or would it be better to make the "type" field an object with a data member for each language?

Thanks,
John H.

Hi John,

Did you find any recommendation for this?

Thanks.
