# ILM frozen data on amazon Glacier?

We have frozen data in S3 bucket. We would like to use glacier instead of s3. Is it possible?

I don't think this is possible.

If you look in the documentation for the [S3 repository](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/repository-s3.html#repository-s3-repository) you have this information about `storage_class`

> (...) You may use an S3 Lifecycle Policy to adjust the storage class of existing objects in your repository, but **you must not transition objects to Glacier classes** and you must not expire objects. **If you use Glacier storage classes** or object expiry then **you may permanently lose access to your repository contents**.
