# Ilm-history-2-000001 UNASSIGNED, primary shard for this replica is not yet active

Please I need critical help with cluster in state RED after upgrade 7.4.2-\>7.9  
during upgrade of 5th node of 15 it did not recover it health to 100% but 99%  
all indices are green except 2 shards

how can I delete shards  
ilm-history-2-000001

is it safe to delete this shards?  
I found [https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/master/ilm-settings.html](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/master/ilm-settings.html)  
this shards contains "only" history of ILM ,. not important data

just deleted the index

DELETE ilm-history-2-000001

and problem is resolved  
since I was sure the index contains only "history" of ilm no critical data I decided to try DELETE and it helped.
