I have created a template containing my ILM policy as follows:
PUT \_template/rollup\_template
{
"index\_patterns": ["rollup\*"],
"settings": {
"number\_of\_shards": 1,
"number\_of\_replicas": 1,
"index.lifecycle.name": "rollup\_policy\_1",
"index.lifecycle.rollover\_alias": "rollup"
}
}

My two indices names are **rollup\_services** and **rollup\_process**.
When doing an \_ilm/explain, the response says managed: false

I am trying to understand my error in why the template is not mapping the ILM policy to these indices.
