# ILM No Copies After N number days

Is it possible using an environment where basically all nodes are considered hot to just use ILM to say after a certain number of days drop the replica for an index and only have the single primary copy with no replicas? Or will I have to use a rollover policy to warm nodes to be able to do this?

Look at this [example](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/current/ilm-allocate.html#ilm-allocate-ex), it sets number of replicas but doesn't change box\_type.
