# I'm not able to create a rule to trigger the alert! please suggest! Urgent!

Hello I'm newbie to ELK, I'm using version 8.14  
i'm trying to trigger an alert for the condition below

```auto
Need to trigger a email notification for the error log occurred based more than or equal to the configured number per minute.

```

IDK how to do that. Please explain!  
I'm trying to create a rule, so I clicked on 'Create Rule', but it showed 'Select the rule type', and there were no rule types available. Also, when I click on the Security page, it shows 'Page not found'. This issue is only happening on the Security page; the Observability and Analytics pages are working fine.

Is triggering alert is only for paid version  
I tried to create an alert in discover tab itself I'm trying to save it but it not getting saved
