# Import shape files Geo Points

Hi

we currently get shape files from a company and import that into a DB, I was able to import the GEO data from the DB into Elastic. However I would rather import the GEO data directly into elastic.

As mentioned we receive shape files. Can i import these files directly into elastic? or do I need to covert them into GeoJson first?
