Hi All,

Struggling to find a post detailing important system indices that should be backed up. Can someone provide a list of what should be backed up?

My use case, is if our cluster was to corrupt, yes the data in it is a loss, but we can re-ingest start from scratch. What we can't start from scratch is all the visualisations, dashboards, searches and ingest pipelines.

I have noted i should backup .logstash and .kibana\* but anything else?

If you're running 8.X then check out [Snapshot and restore | Elasticsearch Guide [8.5] | Elastic](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/8.5/snapshot-restore.html#feature-state)
