# In the future we are moving Dev servers to the production cluster. The data currently in the dev-cluster for these servers not available in prod. We need to copy indices from dev to prod. How we can achieve we need only those development indices to prod?

I would recommend using the [snapshot and restore mechanism](https://www.elastic.co/guide/en/elasticsearch/reference/8.13/snapshot-restore.html).
