# Index update events

Hey all,

I was wondering if there is a way you can subscribe to a certain index and get events when something changes in the index?  
For example a doc is added or removed I would like to subscribe to such a things.

There is not, but it's our [oldest open issue](https://github.com/elastic/elasticsearch/issues/1242) to add this feature.
