# Index update

I would need to know, if we can take Snapshot of Indices during Index update operation?

I know restore demands to keep indices in the close state.

Yes, you can take a snapshot at any time (provided the cluster is healthy). Concurrently executing operations (index, update, delete) may or may not be included in the snapshot.
