# Indices, types, and parent / child: current status and upcoming changes in Elasticsearch

With reference to blog published here [https://www.elastic.co/blog/index-type-parent-child-join-now-future-in-elasticsearch](https://www.elastic.co/blog/index-type-parent-child-join-now-future-in-elasticsearch). I use types to more of group on project level than on the model level. There are parent child relationships but I avoid them by having nested types.
