# Ingest attachment image metadata

I'm new ES and have just set it up with the ingest-attachment plugin to index various files that I send to it. It indexes all the files I send to it, but I've noticed that for pdfs, for example, a lot of meta data gets indexed (like date, author, keywords, etc), but not for png images (nothing really, just content-type).
I've tried to add the metadata to the exif, xmp, and iptc portions of the png file, but the ingest-attachment never seems to grab it.
Is there some setup that I'm missing, or is it just that Tika is not going to give that data to the attachment pipeline for images?
